Apropos of photographer Irina Werning’s fantastic “Back to the Future” project, my pal Robin Abrahams asked on Facebook what photos the rest of us would choose to recreate if we had the chance. This was the one I thought of immediately. I kept it on my fridge for a long time as an adult, where I would look at it every day and think, “I want to feel that happy all the time.”
I don’t, but it’s still a nice goal.
If that tree’s still there, it’s probably grown enough in the last (gulp) 29 and a half years to hold me as a fat adult. And I’ve been wanting an excuse to buy a pair of Topsiders anyway. Hmmm.

Your lovely, smart face! Please do recreate.
Adorable you, gorgeous setting.
I think mine would be the picture of me in short shorts and Minnie Mouse ears eating an ice cream cone at Disneyland. Bliss.
